With July 20, 2009 fast approaching, NASA announces it will be celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the first Moon landing by the Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, and the entire Apollo Program by the United States of America.
NASA will highlight the entire Apollo program with moon trees, animated
comics, historic videos, and other interesting features over the coming months.

Celebrate Apollo: Exploring the Moon, Discovering Earth” as a way to celebrate the accomplishments of the Apollo Program and its benefits to humans all over the world.

“… is an effort to engage the public and disseminate information about NASA's historic, current and future missions.”
The new website includes a special anniversary logo, downloadable videos, images, and events, along with an interactive feature about “Moon Trees.”
