Science - Space

For more information on the voting process, along with pictures of the node and cupola, check out the following NASA website.

To vote on the name for the new Space Station module, go to “Help NASA Name Node3” (http://www.nasa.gov/namenode3).

Node 1 has already been named “Unity,” while Node 2 is called “Harmony.”

NASA has selected four possible names from which to choose:

Earthrise

Legacy

Serenity

Venture

You can also write-in another name.

NASA states that “The name should reflect the spirit of exploration and cooperation embodied by the space station and follow in the tradition set by Node 1, named 'Unity,' and Node 2, named 'Harmony'."

Node 3 and the Cupola is scheduled to be delivered to the International Space Station (ISS) in late 2009 or early 2010 by the STS-130 crew onboard the space shuttle Endeavour. The mission is currently scheduled on earlier than December 10, 2009.

Page three states the names of the crewmembers for STS-130, along with the already-selected names for modules, airlocks, and laboratories on the Space Station.
