Orbiting NASA tool bag seen with binoculars

Science - Space

In the meantime, while the tool bag is still circling our planet, people on Earth can see the NASA tool bag as it makes it orbit around the Earth.

The use of a telescope is one way to see the tool bag, but on a very clear night you can also see it with binoculars.

In addition, you can see a YouTube video called “NASA Tool Bag Caught In Orbit” made by Kevin Fetter on November 22, 2008 from Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

According to the NASA SpaceWeather.com article “ISS Toolbag Update,” a Toolbag Sighting Party was held on January 12, 2009 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.

Eddie Irizarry (a member of the Astronomical Society of the Caribbean) stated, "Using just a pair of 7x50 binoculars, Joxelle Velazquez was the first to spot the tumbling object passing 1 [degree] below the Pleiades star cluster. It was about as bright as a 6th magnitude star."

Irizarry commented, "The Toolbag party was a success!"

Page three tells you the NASA website that will provide the nights and times to locate the tool bag over your night sky.
