Space tourist prices now really out of this world

Science - Space

If you want to become a space tourist and visit the ISS on a Soyuz capsule, the news is bad as the price has almost doubled!

Becoming a space tourist is a very expensive business these days, and much of the blame can be laid squarely at the feet of the USA, whose dollar is losing value rapidly worldwide as trillions of dollars flood the planet.

This has caused Russia’s “Space Adventure” company to increase prices from around US $20 to $25 million to US $30 to $40 million dollars, signaling just how far the US dollar has fallen.

According to Xinhua and news Agencies, Soyuz TMA-13 and TMA-14 have had places booked for space tourists, with TMA-13 due to launch in 2008 and 14 due to launch in 2009.

Around a dozen multi-millionaires are trying to become the next paying space tourists.
