STS-115 was the first mission of the Space Shuttle to the International Space Station since the disaster involving the Space Shuttle Columbia.
The crew of STS-115 lifted off on September 9 for its twelve-day mission to deliver the second port-side truss segment (P3/P4), a pair of solar arrays (2A/4A), and batteries to the station.
