Space station crew prepare for spacewalks on May 30th and June 6th

International Space Station (ISS) Expedition 15 crew are preparing for two spacewalks to install debris protection panels and reroute GPS antennae cable.

On May 30, 2007, Russian cosmonaut and ISS commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and Russian cosmonaut and ISS flight engineer Eleg Kotov will begin a scheduled six-hour spacewalk from the Pirs docking compartment airlock starting at about 2:20 p.m. EDT.

The May 30th spacewalk will be shown live on NASA TV beginning at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

The June 6th spacewalk, which begins at about 10:30 a.m., will be shown live on NASA TV beginning at 10 a.m. EDT.

Yuchikhin will be wearing a Russian Orlan spacesuit with red stripes (designated EV1) and Kotov will wear the same type of Russian suit but with blue stripes (designated EV2).
