A Canadian study has answered the question: Is sex ok during pregnancy?

A study by Drs. Claire Jones, Crystal Chan, and Dan Farine is published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

Entitled 'Sex in pregnancy,' the article (DOI:10.1503/cmaj.091580) is within the January 2011 issue of the journal.

Their guidelines in the CMAJ advises woman that there is no reason why pregnant women with a low-risk pregnancy should not have sex.
Lead researcher for the study, Dr. Claire Jones, an obstetrician at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto (Canada) answers the question: 'For healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies, it is very safe to have intercourse as long as you are comfortable enough to do it.'

She adds that their results should ''¦ relieve some of the fears that pregnant women who are otherwise healthy have, and relieve the fears of their partner, as well, who might be afraid of having sex for reasons that are not really founded.'
