Sex survey by AARP targets 45 and older crowd

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) undertook a survey of sexual and romantic habits for people in the United States 45 years and older. The 2009 survey was released early in May 2010. It found that most people in the 50s had less sex from 2004 to 2009.
The AARP article 'Sex in the Fifties' reports on the survey's findings. It states, 'Check out the results of our sex and romance survey, and see how your own love life stacks up.'
The AARP article also states, 'Between 2004 and 2009, the percentage of people in their 50s who say they have sex at least once a week took about a 10-point plunge for both sexes (women dropped from 43 to 32 percent, and men from 49 to 41 percent).'
And, 'The 50-somethings aren't special; most other age groups saw a drop in their frequency of sex, too.'
The article further reports that only 43% of older Americans in 2009 are satisfied with their sex lives. In 2004, that percentage was 51%, a difference of 8%.
The survey also found that, in 2009, about 22% of Americans 45 years of age and older believe that only married people should have sex. In 1999, that percentage was 41%, a difference of 19%.
