The product evaluation organization Consumer Reports analyzed various brands of chicken nuggets and found many of them to be of questionable nutritional value, being often high in salt and fat.
The article appears in the June 2010 issue of the magazine Consumer Reports.
The two soy-based brands tested by representatives of Consumer Reports were Boca and MorningStar Farms.
Many of the brands tested were found to be full of fat and salt. The best brands, with respect to nutrition, scored only as high as 'Good.'
Only one brand scored 'Very Good.' It was Health Is Wealth, but it was rated as not very tasty. Most of the brands scored 'Fair' or 'Poor' with respect to nutrition.
For more information on the ratings of the various brands of chicken nuggets please read the Consumer Reports article cited earlier.
Page two briefly discusses the topic found within a May 5, 2010 MSNBC article, which indicates that just because chicken nuggets (or any other food) states it is 'organic' or "natural" doesn't necessarily mean it is healthy to eat.
