Within the ABC News article, Dr. Parker recommends that women, who are contemplating cosmetic surgery, should interview at least three surgeons before having the operation performed.

Make sure they are qualified to perform such surgery.

And, she also recommends talking with your family doctor before having the surgery.

This general practitioner (GP) will help you review what to expect in such surgeries and assist you in learning more about their risks.

She states, ''¦ I would interview at least three specialists. You need to understand whether you're going to get on with that person because they will be operating on your body.'

And, "You need to ask them a set of questions including how many procedures of this kind they carry out every year."

For a discussion by Dr. Parker on her research, please view the YouTube video "Shining a light on cosmetic surgery: Rhian Parker, ANU, April 2010."

Page three concludes with additional information on what these women experienced in their cosmetic surgeries, as interviewed by Dr. Parker.
