U.S. President, First Lady want to stop childhood obesity

First Lady Michelle Obama announced during a TV interview that the White House will actively combat childhood obesity in the United States. The President and the First Lady want to end the serious health epidemic within one generation.



After her TV interview, her husband, U.S. president Barack Obama, signed a memorandum ordering U.S. federal agencies to fight this major health problem that has spread across the country.

On Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010, Michelle Obama was interviewed by Robin Roberts on U.S. television, specifically ABC News program “Good Morning America.”

During the interview, she talked about the official launch of the White House’s fight against childhood obesity.

Michelle Obama stated during the show, "I love burgers and fries, and I love ice cream and cake, and so do most kids.”
