Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia. Dementia affects 1 in 20 people over the age of 65 years.
According to
Alzheimer's Disease International, approximately 30 million people around the world have dementia.
It is likely that the more active a person is, the longer one can generally delay the onset of dementia.
However, too much activity may place too much stress on a elderly person’s life, which may increase the chances of getting dementia.
Scientists are learning more each day about memory loss and other symptoms that show the beginnings of dementia in people.
And, they will continue to study dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease, in order to learn more about its symptoms and treatment options.
Symptoms of dementia may vary depending but memory loss is usually the earliest and most noticeable symptom.
