Specifically, the study found the following results from drinking a daily glass of fruit juice (versus not drinking juice each day):
Lowers the risk for obesity by 22%
(when all external factors were canceled out, the risk was lowered by 14%)
Lowers the risk for metabolic syndrome by 15%
Metabolic syndrome involves the presence of three of the following problems (1) obesity, (2) high level of blood glucose, (3) high level of fasting triglycerides, (4) low high-density lipoprotein ("good" cholesterol), and (5) high blood pressure.
Having three or more of these medical problems increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.

We know that maintaining a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables is linked to decreased risk of some chronic diseases.
