Lydia Parnes, the director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection, states,
"As long as products have been sold there has been somebody out there selling snake oil to consumers.”
Parnes added,

According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the five alleged bogus cancer cure companies, which are currently under litigation (being sued) by the FTC, are:
