Data center neutralizes the green house

Science - Energy

As recently reported on iTWire  data centers are huge consumers of electricity. One data center is making a stand and going green.

ilisys of Perth have embarked on an initiative to go green by using 100% natural power and offset all their CO2 emissions.

They use 200,000 KWh of electricity each year running their headquarters, serving website and managing email for 18,000 Australian businesses. By choosing natural power, they are reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a healthier environment. The energy ilisys use is provided by a supplier which uses only renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

To avoid the cynicism of the critics they have even decided to off-set the C02 emissions from their staff's airline travel and commuting, by planting trees through Carbon Neutral.

This is a great step and just shows us all that a difference can be made. If you're planning to get your work place to go 100% green then there's now no excuse.
