It's that time again: 2010 science highlights

The end of each year seems to be the appropriate time to review the highlights of the past year. The journal Nature has dramatic pictures included with its 2010 science highlights, and it's well worth a look.


You don't need to subscribe to the magazine Nature to enjoy its "2010 Review of the Year".

The Nature people begin by stating, 'The Deepwater Horizon went up in flames in the Gulf of Mexico and a US court unexpectedly suspended all federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research.'

And, 'Meanwhile, the J. Craig Venter Institute in Rockville, Maryland, unveiled a 'synthetic cell' and reports of arsenic-based life sparked controversy. Nature looks back at a dramatic year in science.'

Included within this 2010 review are dramatic images of the major events from the year 2010.
