You probably have already seen the video of the "supposed" woolly mammoth crossing a Russian river. However, it has come to light that the real (original) author of the video did not film the scene quite the way it was falsely portrayed in the woolly mammoth video hoax.

The woolly mammoth has been extinct for about 10,000 years. However, that didn't stop someone from putting on the Internet a video that showed a woolly mammoth crossing a river in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region of Russia.

This video has been circulating for quite a while as people continue to speculate what really was going on (most did not think the animal crossing the river was an extinct woolly mammoth -- maybe a bear with a fish in his/her mouth).

The video surfaced when the British tabloid The Sun posted it on the Internet on February 9, 2012.

However the MSNBC article ''Mammoth' video identified ... without the mammoth' discusses the real filmmaker of the video, the one that originally did not include the mammoth.

The MSNBC article states, 'Experts cast doubts on the video's authenticity; Derek Serra, a Hollywood video effects artist, concluded that it 'appears to have been intentionally blurred.''

Many people, after watching the video, have conjectured on the authenticity of this video.

And, MSNBC continues with, 'Serra isn't the only expert who can shed some light on this mystery: another person is Ludovic Petho. His name may not be familiar to most people, but his work has been seen by millions; he captured the scenic footage at the Kitoy River in Siberia's Sayan Mountains in the summer of 2011.'

Page two concludes.
