Gen-i has today announced an expansion of its client support operations within Australia. Gen-i helps enterprises to improve business performance and achieve their strategic goals, through seamlessly integrated ICT solutions and managed services.
The expansion in capability will help drive Gen-i's business growth within Australia, and address strong client demand for managed services and collaboration solutions.
Paul Wilson, Gen-i Managing Director Australia, said that his clients are increasingly relying on Gen-i to provide seamless converged networks that span both sides of the Tasman.
'We are expanding Gen-i's Australian team of 200 employees by 30% over the next 18 months, focusing investment and growth in four key practice areas - Network and Security, Collaboration, End User Computing and Cloud and Virtualisation.'
Gen-i has Australian offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Technical services are offered across all of Australia and New Zealand, backed by a team of 2,500 employees across the region. Within Australia, Gen-i offers a range of ICT consulting, professional services, and managed services to help clients improve their business performance.
'One of the major issues faced by companies operating across both Australia and New Zealand is IT systems complexity and the overheads it creates,' Wilson continued. 'Gen-i has focused on pulling together seamless ICT solutions designed to help our clients reduce their costs, while enabling a consistent experience for their employees across locations in Australia and New Zealand.'
'In the last year, all of our Australasian clients have renewed their agreements, bringing their ICT network and service management under single trans-Tasman agreements with one point of accountability.'
In order to simplify ICT systems for enterprise and government clients, a range of specialist expertise is needed across multiple technology domains. To address the business challenges faced by clients, Gen-i partners closely with market leading enterprise vendors, including Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Lenovo, Salesforce, Infosys and Microsoft.
The depth of technical expertise within Gen-i's team has been recognised through multiple partner accreditations, including the achievement of Cisco Gold Partner, Citrix Platinum Partner and VMware Enterprise Partner accreditations.
Gen-i is Cisco's second partner to achieve accreditation across all three architectures in Australia, including: Advanced Data Centre Architecture Specialisation; Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialisation; and Advanced Borderless Network Architecture Specialisation.
In addition, Gen-i has achieved Microsoft Gold Partner accreditation in End User Computing and Collaboration and Microsoft Silver Partner accreditation in the fields of Server Platform, Virtualisation, Mobility and Search.
Paul Wilson added that Australian enterprises often operate across multiple office locations, which can make knowledge sharing and teamwork challenging.
'With employees now expecting to be able to bring their own devices into the workplace, corporate IT departments are coming under increased pressure to accommodate wide diversity in the way IT is being consumed and deployed, with systems complexity often outpacing in-house skills. Gen-i continues to invest in on-the-ground expertise in Australia, to support the demand we are seeing from clients for sophisticated collaboration solutions that span these complex environments.'
