Over the many years of business travelling I have come to use a backpack to transport my laptop and “stuff’ instead of a briefcase – if only to leave my arms and hands free when negotiating customs and baggage carousels. There is certainly no business or boardroom “suit” stigma or snobbery anymore against backpacks.
Yesterday, I published a scathing review of the hybrid notebook PC and tablet from Hewlett-Packard, the HP ENVY x2. I stand by the conclusions of that review - underpowered, overpriced and neither a good tablet nor PC. However, I believe the hardware is actually very nice and the story would have been quite different had HP not used Windows 8 or upped its hardware specs.
Prior to getting my hands on a review unit of the HP ENVY x2, the new hybrid Windows 8 notebook and tablet PC from Hewlett-Packard, I felt a sense of quiet anticipation that perhaps this could be a great come-back product for the troubled computer giant. Sadly, however this machine is the exact opposite and a disappointment on many fronts.
