ViaSat scores $280m NBN Co satellite ground station contract
NBN Co has named US based ViaSat to supply the equipment for the 10 satellite earth stations it is building around Australia.

ViaSat demos HD video between mobile satellite terminals
Satellite communications systems manufacturer, ViaSat, says it has demonstrated full-mesh satellite communications using an Optus satellite and an Australian designed antenna to stream high-definition video simultaneously in both directions between two remote sites.

NBN satellite wannabe, O3b, signs Viasat for Ka band earth stations
O3b Networks, the company planning a network of medium earth orbit Ka band satellites to provide broadband to underserved rural areas, has award ViaSat a $US47m contract to supply ground station systems.
