Acer launch Aspire 5560 series in Aus

Acer has today launched the Aspire 5560 series in Australia, offering improved performance thanks to an AMD Fusion A-Series Accelerated Processing Unit.

By using the latest AMD APU processors alongside AMD's GPUs, Acer claims users will experience 'heightened performance and brilliant HD entertainment with unrivalled visual quality' from the new line-up.

Starting at $799, the laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD's A Series Dual Core A4-3300M processor, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, and a 500GB hard drive.

It's got a 15.6'³ display, as well as an SD card slot, 1.3MP front-facing webcam, HDMI output, DVD burner (no Blu-Rays support) and gigabit LAN support.

The 5560'²s touchpad has now joined the multi-touch mouse craze, offering multi-gesture support for Windows 7 although it remains to be seen how responsive it is compared to others on the market.
