The refreshed site was first unveiled to Australians in May, with the company quietly selecting a number of users to present the trial site to.
It now boasts a number of new features including improved, cleaner navigation, a revamped logo, 'voting' for good articles, new sections including one focusing on television shows and an 'Editor's Pick' category, and a real-time feed of articles from across the site.
Bing '” Microsoft's search engine '” is also more prominent in some areas of the site, but on others '” where the new design is yet to spread to such as the news section '” it remains the same.
However '” and as with most redesigns of any major sites '” since then many have expressed concern at the new appearance for the site, with one user expressing their annoyance with NineMSN's new advertising push (they've created some additional advertising spots and new rich media placements/packages) over site content.
'What I hate, loathe and get sooooo sick of is drop down advertisements! Whenever I try to view an article a pop down ad pushes my screen down so I have to scoll down to read the article, then the pop down ad closes and moves my screen up and I have to find where I was at in the article.'
