Using a 14th century poem as the basis for a video game is not the norm, but Dante’s Inferno is ripe for plunging the unwary into virtual hell. Which would be fine, if it was not for all the moaning and groaning.

In fact the bare-breast-per-minute count is higher than just about anything I have seen before. But don’t get too titillated, quite often those breasts are attached to the most grotesque creatures imagination can devise.
The setting for this third-person action game takes place during the period of the great crusades. Outside the city walls of Acre, our protagonist, Dante, finds out just how much of a naughty boy he has been while away purging the heretics of Saladin.
Returning home, Dante finds his alluring (in some cut-scenes at least) beloved Beatrice has met a grisly, semi-naked (of course!) end. Dropping to his knees in his anguish Dante witnesses the spirit of Beatrice being abducted by good ol’ Satan himself.
So after a bit of a tangle with Death, Dante heads off to the Nine Circles of Hell(tm) to win back his girl at the cost of beating up on the denizens and lost souls that inhabit the various realms.
As per the original poem, Dante is guided by the poet Vigil, and encounters many a famous historic figure along the way. In between these encounters as well as regular taunts by the big fellow himself, Dante will battle all kinds of foes in regular third-person game-play style. The action is nothing we have not seen before in games such as Devil May Cry 4, Darksiders, Bayonetta, and God of War, but perhaps the theme is the compelling part of this offering.
