Similarly, Style Boutique for the DS was a game still some way from completion as a number of yet-to-be-ironed-out glitches were evident in the shown code cut.

Like Groovy Chick: My Fashion Place, Style Boutique’s overarching premise is that of opening your own fashion based retail outlet.  But unlike My Fashion Place, this is not a simple collection of min-games.

Style Boutique is more about business management than anything else.  iTWire’s dabble with the game consisted of playing around with extensive hair styling tools and then entering a fashion catwalk contest.

In the contest, various designers are given a theme to work and compete to.  Ours was ‘care free’, and after a few hints on what this might entail, it was time to dress our catwalk model accordingly.

Spending some time in careful consideration was crucial, the appropriately named ‘stylus’ hovering over a wide choice of clothing designs, before selecting a coordinated outfit that captured the theme in an appealing manner.

The 3D graphics, and delivery style was good enough to raise some tension as my rival designers models strutted out their outfits, followed by my own creation and then finally the wait for the judge’s decision.............We won, I am not sure what you were worried about.

There is a great deal of depth to this management/designer simulation that will target a young creative audience when it is released in November.
