Review: NERF N-Strike – Shoot foam at your TV

Entertainment

For those colour blind folk amongst us, the challenge imposed by being told (via voice over) which coloured robots to destroy, could be tricky.

The other challenges of note include blasting spheres as they roll around a disc, changing their colour so they eventually exploded! And a robot old west style street shootout.

The best challenges are inspired by the superior Boom Blox , these involve a variety of block busting encounters.  Take out the target block, or protect blocks, by blasting away at an ever increasing complex stack.  This is good fun, but does pale against the Boom Blox experience.

The NERF Switch Shot EX-3 is a nice gimmick that gives this title an elevation above mediocrity and should delight kids and parents alike.  The control is, like many Wii games requiring precision, a little shaky, and the design of the EX-3 does not look as though it will accommodate the Wii-Motion-plus attachment, that should be a god-send for games like this.

If you are a NERF Nerd, then this should while away some hours, but for others the experience will get stale pretty quickly.nerfns1.jpg

5.5 Magnum Dart’s out of 10  - but for kids probably score this as 7
