Ontrack Data Recovery Introduces Ontrack PowerControlsâ„¢ Version 4.2

Sydney, 30 January 2007 – Ontrack Data Recovery™ today announced the availability of Ontrack® PowerControls™ 4.2 software, the newest version of its widely used mailbox recovery tool. Ontrack PowerControls 4.2 offers full support for Microsoft® Exchange 2007, allowing administrators already using Exchange 2007 to save time and attain better recovery performance, message viewing capabilities and advanced searching features. This upgraded version also supports Microsoft Outlook® 2007 in addition to providing all of the features and benefits of the current product.

Ontrack PowerControls is designed to run from a Windows® based workstation and uses native Microsoft Messaging APIs (MAPI) to communicate with the Exchange Server, ensuring reliable and consistent operation of a server. Alternatively, Ontrack PowerControls 4.2 can be installed directly on Exchange Server 2007. In either configuration, Ontrack PowerControls is compatible with the new Exchange 2007 64-bit architecture.
 
Ontrack PowerControls, which earned “Verified for Microsoft Windows XP” status through independent testing, is used by IT professionals to quickly and easily search, copy and restore message-level or individual mailbox items from any previous full backup, un-mounted databases (.edb) and Information Store files.  Requiring no changes to the existing Exchange server or backup architecture, Ontrack PowerControls slashes restore time, eliminates brick-level back-ups, minimises the time it takes to locate all emails matching specific criteria using advanced searching capabilities, and eliminates the need for an Exchange recovery server.
