Eaton First To Release Comprehensive Suite of UPS, Power Management Solutions Compatible with Window

Eaton, a diversified industrial manufacturer, has announced that its line of supervision and protection products are compatible with Microsoft’s new Windows® 7 operating system.

Eaton’s software family, including Intelligent Power Manager™, NetWatch™, Network Shutdown Module™ (NSM™), Personal Solution-Pac™ and LanSafe®, allows Windows 7 enterprise servers, small business and home-use personal computers (PCs) to be monitored and safely shut down during a power failure, protecting and saving valuable data.

“Windows 7 is Microsoft’s newest and most advanced Windows operating system for business and home PCs, designed to meet the evolving requirements of users and Information Technology (IT) professionals.  Eaton’s suite of power management and protection software brings together the ease of use of Windows 7 machines with the security, protection, control and simplicity of managing and monitoring uninterruptible power system (UPS)-protected IT equipment,” said Ciaran Bolton, Product Manager, Eaton in Australia.

Eaton has been on the forefront of maximising compatibility of its power management software to the latest operating systems, providing customers with the most advanced and easy-to-use power protection solutions in the marketplace. Most importantly, Eaton’s power management software used with its energy efficient UPSs gives users a complete and affordable solution to power protection and power management.

For IT environments, Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software can substantially lower costs for supervising networked UPSs and associated equipment, compared to using major network management system platforms. Intelligent Power Manager can carry out a scan for all the UPS systems on the network regardless of vendor and discover and manage other critical power components, such as Eaton’s ePDU® products and environmental sensors, giving administrators comprehensive control of their protected infrastructure.

Eaton’s shutdown agents, NetWatch and NSM, provide server protection compatible with the latest Microsoft Virtualisation features (Hyper-V and Hyper-V server). NetWatch and NSM gracefully shut down virtual machines and host servers powered by the UPS in the event of a prolonged power outage. These agents feature easy and assisted installation along with remote management and are available as a free download through the Eaton Power Quality Web site, www.eaton.com/powerquality
