Authors can protect their PDFs, spreadsheets, image file or HTML projects. DocProtect 1.1 adds License Release and Restore between computers, a PDF subscription model, optimizations for big images and collections and new licensing features.Authors can protect their investment and increase sales by ensuring that only licensed customers can use their Mac OS X and Windows documents. With basic computer skills, anyone can use DocProtect on HTML projects, image collections, video and audio files, PDFs and Excel spreadsheets. DocProtect works independently or with the QuickLicense or QuickLicense Server protection system.
DocProtect 1.1 adds License Release and Restore between computers, PPC, Intel or Universal Binaries on Mac, a PDF subscription model for magazine and newsletter publishers, optimizations for big images, enhancements for handling large image collections and new licensing features available through the WebActivation and Safe Activation license servers.
DocProtect protects popular document types on Mac OS X or Windows by generating a single file application that presents the document on licensed computers while restricting features like copy, export and save. For spreadsheets and PDF files, first use Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat to restrict features like copy, export or save. Now use DocProtect to wrap a protective license around the document. Use the QuickLicense application to configure a Product or Trial license, a Try, Buy or Register dialog, human language customization or to fully define the activation process.
An HTML project containing hundreds of files and folders can be compiled into an application with a custom icon. Simply drag the main file onto DocProtect. The application can be password protected or a computer specific trial or product license can be applied. A browser window with back and forward buttons allows link navigation to embedded pages and external pages on the Internet. Developers can include HTML pages and data from a hidden area of their web site in the protected Mac or Windows desktop application.
Use DocProtect on video and audio files presented through a viewer window based on AppleOs QuickTime technology. Image files of virtually any format can be collected, named, described and individually password protected. Users can preview images, then click a button to present a vendor web page to purchase the image. Export the original file format including vector images, drawings or CAD files.
DocProtect 1.1 is $495 for a Single User License on Windows (XP and Vista) or Mac OS X (PPC and Intel) or $795 for both platforms. DocProtect includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for unlimited documents. The company web site has demonstration videos, detailed product information and secure online ordering.
