Avaya Strengthens Australian & New Zealand Operations Under New Managing Director

Industry veteran joins Avaya to grow company’s foothold in delivering innovative business communications technologies to customers and extend channel reach.

Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications systems, software and services, today named Rob Wells as its new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.  Wells is responsible for directing the business and day to day operations through its next phase of growth. He will assume his responsibilities on 29 June, 2009.

Based in Sydney, Wells reports to company President for Asia Pacific, John DiLullo. In this new role, Wells is tasked with driving Avaya’s overall business strategy in Australia and New Zealand and strengthening its position in its core areas of Unified Communications and leadership in Contact Centers .

His deep understanding of the ANZ marketplace, expertise in forging durable alliances and passion for technology will greatly amplify the success we’re enjoying with customers and partners throughout the region." said DiLullo.

Wells is a seasoned veteran in the information technology industry with 25 years of sales, operations and general management experience in enterprise software, telecommunications and computing.  He joins Avaya following four years at SAP/Business Objects where he was the Vice President of Australia and New Zealand.  Prior to SAP, he enjoyed eight successful years in a broad variety of high-impact roles at PeopleSoft including the Vice President of North Asia and the Managing Director for ANZ Sales Operations.  Wells also held senior leadership roles at both Sequent Systems and Unisys.
