CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Brix Networks, a global provider of converged service assurance solutions, recently announced the addition of a new executive to the company's growing international sales and support organization. Bill Haber, located in Melbourne, has joined Brix as Sales Director in the Asia-Pacific region.

Haber has overall responsibility for managing the sales activities for Brix in the South Pacific territory with a focus on Australia and New Zealand. Haber joins Brix from Telcordia and previously worked at Granite Systems, Metrica and other technology companies where he held international sales positions of increasing responsibility throughout his 15-year career.

According to a recent report here published by In-Stat, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based research firm, the global consumer Voice over IP (VoIP) market increased from approximately 16 million subscribers in 2005 to more than 50 million in 2006, with Europe leading the way. In-Stat forecasts that by 2011, 38 percent of broadband households worldwide will subscribe to VoIP services, and that consumer VoIP revenue will grow from $15 billion to nearly $44 billion over the next five years.
