Two New Disk Drives Now Available
Today Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced the availability of two new hard disk drives: a 750GB SATA drive and a 300GB Fibre Channel (FC) drive.
The new 750GB SATA drive has 250GB more capacity, providing 50% greater storage density, than the largest disk drive previously offered by NetApp. This increase in storage density will allow customers to realise savings in power, cooling, and data centre space.
The new high-performance 4Gb per second 300GB FC drive, with 15,000 RPM rotational speed, provides a 50% increase over previous offerings, enabling faster response times and higher data throughput.
Disk shelves for both types of drives can be configured into a single NetApp® FAS storage system, offering a wide variety of storage alternatives for individual customer needs.
