Exinda Introduces New 2800 Unified Performance Management Appliance, Delivers Optimisation & Acceleration for Smaller Offices & Satellite Locations
March 23, 2007? Melbourne ? Exinda Networks, the only provider of Unified Performance Management (UPM) solutions worldwide, today announced another industry breakthrough with the introduction of its 2800 Unified Performance Management appliance which significantly improves WAN access, response and application performance, raising staff productivity and strongly reducing communications costs in multiple remote and small office location WAN environments.
The Exinda 2800 is the latest addition to Exinda’s UPM product family, which combines WAN traffic optimisation, WAN application and TCP acceleration technologies onto a single, cost effective platform. The appliance effectively eliminates annoying delays that remote WAN and satellite connected workers experience as they access applications or data residing at the corporate data centre, as well as ensuring optimal and predictable performance of Citrix and VoIP services across distributed enterprise networks.
“Exinda’s announcement is timely because solutions for improving operations in highly distributed enterprise environments are now in demand,” said Jeffrey Nudler, senior analyst at Enterprise Management Associates. “Companies are seeking effective and affordable ways to improve application response times as today’s workforce is becoming more dispersed through branch offices and other remote work facilities. Exinda’s new appliance combines application acceleration via network optimisation integrated into a compact chassis.”
Designed for locations with up to 30 workstations, the Exinda 2800 will support optimisation and acceleration options from 1 Mbps. up to 10 Mbps. The platform delivers TCP acceleration, policy-based QoS, WAN memory (acceleration), CIFS protocol optimisation (WAFS), cross-flow compression, comprehensive Layer 2 to Layer 7 monitoring and reporting, Adaptive Response, policy controls (P2P control, etc.) and Application Response Measurements. Application Specific Analysis Modules (ASAM) for VoIP and Citrix are also included.
The Exinda 2800 provides a rapid return on investment through productivity gains, strong reductions in branch and remote office expenditures and lower WAN operating costs. Equipped with Auto-Discovery and Transparent Mode implementation, the appliances are easy to install and require no reconfiguration of network routers.
“Enterprises today require WAN acceleration and optimisation to deliver real business grade performance into hundreds or even thousands of sites either nationally or globally,” said Michael Grace, Exinda’s vice president of international business development. “This is now both technically and financially viable with the launch of the Exinda 2800. This platform, together with the even more compact Exinda WAN acceleration systems to follow, will fundamentally change the way enterprises use their WANs.”
The Exinda 2800 will be commercially available as of March 31, 2007. Various bandwidth combinations are available to suit link access speeds and acceleration requirements.
