uVent, the official site for whingers officially came out of beta today.  Let the whining commence.

It's a great Australian tradition - moan about poor service to everyone within earshot, but never actually talk to the company you're complaining about.

Well, now earshot just became a whole lot bigger.

According to a spokesperson for the site, "uVent is officially out of beta today, and ready to solve major issues in the consumer advocacy ecosystem in Australia.

"uVent.com.au has already begun to shake-up the industry, with companies like Telstra and Optus telling their customers not to use the service - which has only made it more of a hit!"

Presumably Telstra and Optus were hoping that if customers had a problem, the telco might actually be given a chance to fix it directly.  Fat chance!

With trumpet raised firmly to lips, the announcement continues, "uVent already has big brands around Australia realising they'll have to step up their game in order to reverse the negative experiences of some customers.

"uVent works as a facilitator between the customer and the company, helping customers resolve their issues, receive accountability from their provider. For companies that ignore Vents, they will quickly lose market share as competitors can make better offers to any of their unhappy customers."

Wishful thinking, I'm sure.

But there are significant problems - see over for some of them.
