Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Congressman Weiner's underpants - chock full of tweeting goodness

Opinion and Analysis

In an on-again-off-again saga, Congressman Weiner finally admits his (ahem) wiener was indeed the filling in the tweeted underpants.

You have to say, when this story surfaced, two thoughts crossed my mind at about the same time:

"You just can't make this stuff up."

And

"The jokes simply write themselves!"

So, I won't bother with the jokes; but for those who've been out camping or whatever other excuse for not staying abreast of the news, here's what happened.

On May 27th, the good Congressman attempted to send a private twitter message, containing a picture of bulging underwear, to a female Seattle college student.  We of course remain unenlightened as to *why* he might have done this.

Upon realising that the message was sent publicly, he loudly and publicly claimed that his Twitter account had been hacked.  In fact he gave a large number of interviews proclaiming this fact.

Now, another week has passed and the media pressure (various outlets had discovered other young women receiving similar images) has proven too much and Congressman Weiner has admitted the contents were his own.

In today's press conference, Weiner said that would not be resigning, but would get back to focusing on his constituents.  One can only hope he was referring to the people who voted for him!

So, for once, we can't accuse this politician of pork barrelling, but I guess the barrel was never an important part of the process.

Hint to all would-be private message-senders.  Confirm that you've ticked the private checkbox; and check again before sending.

And for the Australian audiences who might otherwise accuse Congressman Anthony Weiner of being nothing more than the meat in a Media sandwich, all I have to offer is the old epithet: Is Don, is Good.
