The handling of the cars is straight forward, forget about the actual physics of the blinding speed and impossible loops and avoid going into a slide as it slows the car down too much. In fact, why Sidhe Interactive even provided a ‘break’ button is somewhat beyond me.
There is some co-op multiplayer fun to be had and a movie to unlock, but the platter life of Speed Racer may not be too long. The Championship modes provide an adequate number of fun hours with multiplayer extending this a little longer.
If you are sick of Mario Kart but want some more Wii racing action then you could do worse than donning sunglasses and picking up Speed Racer.
I then thought maybe I am not the target audience for such a game, so I asked my seven year old colleague at number 23 in my street to try out the game. Here is Alex’s (not Zaharov-Reutt) take on the game.
Worst Part: When exploding near the end of a race
Best Part: Being able to be fav characters like Speed Racer
Game rating:Unbeliveabale! (sic) 14 out of 10
Perhaps, based on Alex’s views and once my eyes heal, I will give Speed Racer another go.
