RockStar had arguably the biggest title on the 2007 release calendar with Grand Theft Auto IV including exclusive Xbox 360 content now pushed out to 2008. Good for Halo 3 and many others, not so good for game console sales in general.
Still there is Midnight Club:Los Angeles to look forward to. The fourth in the Midnight Club series for Xbox 360 and PS3 and equals the first three games put together in scope and size. This expensive automobile street racing game is shaping up to be something special. May not see it until early 2008 however.
Manhunt 2 also made it past the (U.S. at least) censors scissors and will make a bloody splash onto store shelves this October (once again, U.S. at least).
THQ will be letting loose popular sequels and expansion packs before the end of the year.
Lookout for Juiced 2:Hot Import Nights racing onto Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, DS and PC in September.
Strategy fans on PC will rejoice in getting hold of Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, introducing UK forces to the acclaimed WWII RTS.
That of course is dependent on them finding time to play COH when confronted with an expansion to the immense Supreme Commander. Quite simply Forged Alliance will give players even more Supreme Commander goodness to strain their PC’s – Both Opposing Fronts and Forged Alliance are hitting shelves this November.
Finally wrasslin’ fans can oil themselves up for the 2008 version of WWE Smackdown VS RAW coming in November to Wii, PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, PSP and DS.
Atari will give us the next Pro Evolution Soccer instalment for PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 and DS before the end of the year.
Now that the MMO Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures has been pushed out to 2008, Atari will be banking on their other high profile title straight from the twisted mind of author Clive Barker.
Clive Barker’s Jericho will have players taking the role of a number a mystically skilled squad member taking on a hoard of grotesque creatures in this action packed shooter. There are still some details around game-play and AI to be ironed out with this release, but look for more hype to build around the release date of Halloween (Oct 31 in U.S. Nov 2nd elsewhere). Coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox360 .
