Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
For Activision it is all about keeping alive some hot franchises.
Firstly due for release this southern spring (November 5th is the current target date) is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Making the jump into the present era will be a challenge for franchise, having made its name with excellent WWII experiences.
Activision say; “The new action-thriller from the award-winning team at Infinity Ward, the creators of the Call of Duty(r) series, delivers the most intense and cinematic action experience ever: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare”
Call of Duty 4 is slated for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and makes a much called for return to the PC.
Activision are also aiming to continue the success of their Guitar Hero phenomenon with the third in the series.
“Fire up the fretboard, crank up the amp and get ready to rock like never before. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock drops you into the spotlight of the largest and most legendary rock concert ever.” Say Activision.
This time round guitar wielders will be battling against boss characters such as Guns n Roses’ Slash.
Activision are aiming for a broad audience with a cross platform release on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and for the first time the franchise will venture onto the Nintendo Wii.
46 songs (so far), boss battles and –in some cases- wireless controllers, Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock will be one to add to the collection this October/November.
