Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
On Friday Nintendo faced the press and admitted to not being able to cope with the "abnormal" demand for Wii home game consoles.
"We must do our best to fix this abnormal lack of stock," Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told reporters. "We have not been able to properly foresee demand."
Iwata made it known at a the conference with Tokyo hall that all stops will be pulled out to ramp up output; "We will do our best to offer the machine for those who are waiting,"
Having sold just shy of 6 Million consoles world wide the Wii has proven to be the success of this generation of home entertainment. Along with this the hand-held Nintendo DS is selling fast with Iwata mentioning that 2.5 Million DS machines will be produced monthly by the gaming giant.
Iwata was also able to report on Nintendo first quarter financial results, which to nobodies surprise have seen profit soar by 77 percent to ¥174.29 billion on the back of a 90 percent increase in sales; ¥966.53 billion
With some major franchises such as Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario yet to hit store shelves, the story just gets better for Nintendo. Contrast this with the recent Microsoft Entertainment and Device Division results which saw a 21 percent decrease in revenue for the same quarter.
