US and Japan will get PSP remastered versions of RPG favourites Final Fantasy I & II

Publisher Square Enix maybe deep in development of Final Fantasy XIII amongst other new projects, but have recently found time to remaster a couple of classics.

Final Fantasy I & II have been announced for Japanese PSP owners and as of June 26 Final Fantasy I will be available for US PSP owners followed by Final Fantasy II on July 24th.

These releases are part of the 20 year anniversary celebrations for the increasingly inaccurately titled Final Fantasy series that has been such a success for Square Enix.

These enhanced graphical versions will feature new dungeons, new characters, and “updated camera and wide screen aspect offering.
