Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Game Informer magazine is running a story and a scan about the rumoured black revision of the Xbox 360, this one equipped with HDMI output and cable as well as the famed 120GB hard drive for all those well earned Xbox Live Marketplace downloads to live.
The new SKU is reported to retail for around US $479 with no release date yet mentioned
This rumour has been around for some time, known under the codename “Zephyr”. It was assumed this was just a viral rumour to take away some of the PS3 rest-of the world launch gloss.
This story has more credence given Game Informers usually straight forward tone of delivery.
What will happen as this story unfolds, will we see Microsoft simply through a third SKU into the market place (along with the Core and, well, the one you would actually buy, the Premium).
Or will Microsoft announce this new SKU as a replacement for the current offerings, if so, watch as current sales of Xbox 360 plummet as the market waits, mostly for the 120GB Hard drive.
The respected gadget site Engadget seem to have the low-down on this question. According to the site, this will be a third SKU known as Xbox 360 Elite, with all black controller and Live Headset.
A limited few thousand only will be available, but the Elite will replace the Premium SKU as a white Xbox 360 once the Black Elites’ have sold out.
Pricing may fluctuate slightly as the new 65nm cooler and cheaper chipset makes its way into the Xbox 360 hardware
Perhaps a sensible approach would be to also the new hard drive as a separate accessory for current Xbox 360 owners.
