"The OQO model 02 is a no-compromise PC instantiated as a work of art that fits in your pocket, feels good in your hands and gives you a physical connection to your own data plus the whole broadband internet." said Jory Bell, OQO founder, "Mobility is the new way of computing, for true anytime/anywhere productivity." "
The LCD screen has a resolution of 800x480, and has one touch access to many of the computer’s settings and functions including the ability to change screen resolution on-the-fly with dedicated zoom keys.
The OQO also features a new docking station. It adjusts the model 02 position for desktop viewing, and can also easily collapse for portability. The docking station allows you to work at your desk with a full size display, keyboard, mouse, and wired networking, and then take your data and applications on the road with no synchronization required. The dock also includes an integrated slot loading optical drive enabling software installation, data archiving, and audio/video playback at the your fingertips.
Interestingly, the main OQO unit has an HDMI socket, which comes with an adapter to use with standard VGA ports. An optional accessory also lets you connect the OQO to a monitor with a DVI input.
Battery life is rated at 3 hours with the standard battery, or 6 hours with the higher capacity battery. The unit will start at US $1499, but obviously if you get it configured to the max and also get the docking station, the price will be much higher. Visit the OQO website at http://www.oqo.com.
