If you want to know where to watch the Windows 8 launch event webcast that took place in New York on Thursday, October 25, you’ve come to the right place, because you’ll find it here.
Apple recently streamed its iPad Mini/iPad/Mac Mini/iMac event live to iOS and Mac OS X devices including the Apple TV earlier this week, something it hasn’t done live for at least a couple of years – and it was another “MUST SEE” event.
Meanwhile, Microsoft normally streams its events live, and Google streams too, although memory fails me as to whether its launches are live streamed or not, so it’s good to see Apple getting with the times – even if the initial live stream was exclusive to Apple customers only.

You’ll see Steven Sinofsky strutting his stuff in the first part, Microsoft's Mike Anguilo and Julie Larson-Green as the "demo" couple in the middle showing off a wide range of Windows 8 and RT devices, and Steve Ballmer himself coming out for Act 3 to really push the brand new Windows 8 and RT message, platform and new ecosystem home.
For my thoughts on the Australian launch, and on Windows 8, RT and the Surface RT tablet I had some hands-on time with, read my just published article “Windows 8: the wow starts now?” here, along with my article from earlier this week entitled “Windows 8: great or grate?” here.
