Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Adieu, Adios, Aurevoir: Goodbye, Steve Jobs action figure! :'-(

Opinion and Analysis

Steve Jobs' unauthorised and uncannily lifelike action figure has, as expected, followed Steve himself into the afterlife, leaving behind a visual legacy of startling precision and dedication to detail that will never be in the hands of Jobs-loving consumers.

While the passing of Steve Jobs' unauthorised action figure is unlikely to see the global outpouring of grief that followed following the real man's untimely and unwelcome passing, it's something that was expected to happen.

It's not the first time that a Steve Jobs doll or action figure has bitten the dust - an MIC Global figure holding an iPhone was dealt a similar blow in 2010, although that one arrived while the real Mr Jobs was still with us.

Unfortunately for both action figures, pressure from Apple itself and, in the case of InIcons.com action figure launched in the first week of this year, pressure from Mr Jobs' family, has seen the figures kyboshed and put to rest, saving the world from an attack of the Steve Jobs action figure clones.

We expected, as did much of the world, that this second and ultra-realistic Steve Jobs doll was not long for this world, as first reported in our article 'Will Steve Jobs action figure bite the dust of'¦ Apple legal?', and then once reports that Apple's legal team had send the InIcons.com people a legal letter, as we covered in 'Apple's response to latest Steve Jobs doll bobs up big time', it was no surprise to see fellow Apple fan and iTWire colleague Stephen Withers reporting that the 'Steve Jobs doll maker caves to pressure from Apple and Jobs family'.

So, what did the InIcons people say? Well, its site, which was very slow loading when the news first broke as zillions around the world rushed to see just how incredibly accurate this latest Steve Jobs action figure was, still has all of the incredible images to see, only now overlaid by a closable 'announcement'.

The announcement starts off by noting the day Steve Jobs sadly passed, noted his 'great inventor and visionary' status, and noted that the InIcons maker has been a 'religious' user of Apple's products and Steve Jobs' trajectory over the past 25 years.

The announcement then notes the great sadness, emptiness and feelings of great personal loss that occurred following Steve's passing, and how 'four years ago', the InIcons creator made 'a single figurine of Steve which I placed on my desk next to my Mac'.
