Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Steve Jobs lobs up as action figure again, but he's not for sale?

Opinion and Analysis

There may well be sobs for those who will likely end up missing out on being able to buy a nicely realistic figurine of Steve Jobs, given that Apple shut down sales of a similar doll last year and with no reason why Apple would suddenly be lenient over the use of Steve Jobs' image.

It's all over the news - an action figure from a company called InIcons is to be released, and it looks exactly like Steve Jobs - which is who the doll is meant to represent.

Strikingly lifelike, the doll can be put into various poses, and is meant to be available in February at a price of US $99.

Unfortunately for doll makers wishing to capitalise upon the obviously popularity of the late, bespectacled former Apple leader, Apple has previously been able to get production of a Steve Jobs doll by Chinese company MIC Gadget stopped.

While there is no indication as yet over what Apple plans to do about the new and even more realistic Steve Jobs figurine, one does not need a particularly exceptional imagination to foresee InIcons potentially becoming OutIcons, or even OffIcons.

The InIcons site isn't currently loading as of this moment, although did yesterday after a very, very long wait.

Thus, there's a chance that Apple's people have already been in touch'¦ or it may simply be a case of global hyper-interest in the doll causing massive server issues.

Whatever it is, it may well be the most recent Steve Jobs doll, but despite what is presumed to be Apple's lack of enthusiasm for any such unlicensed figurine, it probably won't be the last Steve Jobs doll the world will ever see.

So, as the latest iSteve pops up to say hello, at least in photographic form, it's probably safest to say iGoodbye now - unless you plan to make a Steve Jobs action figure of your very own!
