Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.

offer will get the chance to play with Intel’s latest and greatest Core
i7 processors 6 days before their “official” release.
Tech site ZDNet has reported that Australian tech retailers will be selling the three new Core i7 processors from November 12, 6 days before their official release on November 18.
The three 45nm processors are the 920 at 2.66Ghz, the 940 at 2.93Ghz and the 965 at 3.2Ghz, and they are expensive, with the cheapest prices reported by ZDNet being AUD $600 for the 920, $1100 for the 940 and a whopping $2500 for the 965 Extreme Edition. ZDNet has more details.
Clearly, you’ll have a real need for speed, and a really big bank balance if buying one of these processors is in your plans for 2008, with prices sure to fall into 2009, and new models to follow.
For many, existing Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors will remain the more affordable choice, while Intel’s Atom processors take the netbook market by storm.
Gamers wanting every extra ounce of power, the highest resolutions and the highest frame rates will want to make sure that an i7 is matched up with their graphics card of choice, but for everyday computing, an i7 will not be necessary.
Indeed, with Windows 7 being designed to work on existing computers quite happily, reversing the trend of Windows Vista requiring more powerful hardware than Windows XP.
And with the Windows 7 pre-beta running happily on Intel Atom-powered netbook computers, the i7 processor may well dovetail nicely with Windows 7 from a marketing perspective but it definitely needs to become cheaper for true mass adoption.

Personally I’m looking forward to a mobile version of the i7 processor, delivering even more power to today’s notebooks and further differentiating them from netbooks, but we’ll have to wait until sometime in 2009 for that to happen.
