Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
With Apple, it’s clear that they know what’s good for you, and they’re going to give you what they want. They are a business after all, from their point of view why give people a cheaper option in the MacBook if it means fewer sales of MacBook Pros?
And there’s also the whole topic of a “MacBook Mini” which we didn’t see in the latest laptop refresh.
With the MacBook Air so expensive, it’s just a status symbol now. Anyone wanting more power, more expandability and more money in their wallets will skip it and go straight for the new MacBook.
It’s just a shame that the netbook revolution is thus far passing Apple by, even though it has it’s own “netbook” of sorts in the iPhone.
Perhaps January will bring forth an iPhone Pro, or a MacBook Mini after all. We might even see Blu-ray finally make an appearance.
Until then, a new Apple purchase every year or so keep’s Apple’s books in the black and in the clear, and hopefully (for Apple) keeps their share price very dear, despite the economic-crisis induced slump it’s been experiencing.
So... now we wait to see if someone dreams up a magical and reliably working Ethernet or USB to FireWire attachment for the MacBook anyway, doing the opposite of what Apple wants.
If someone can at an affordable price, it’ll be one in Apple’s eye, and the apple of the eye for FireWire-loving MacBook users!
