Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Kingston Technology Company, makers of a range of memory products, from RAM to Flash drives and more, has just launched 32GB in a stick, supposedly only in the US for now.
Although it has a US $139 retail price, NewEgg is already selling the drive for only US $70, down from a supposed NewEgg retail of US $99, making the drive “half price” from its initial launch!
The 32GB model is the largest in Kingston’s DataTraveler DT150 line, and as you’d expect, Kingston’s press release waxes lyrical about users being able to “conveniently combine work-related content and personal digital content on the same drive with plenty of room to spare.”
In another statement of the bleeding obvious, Kingston says that “users can now transport and share entire libraries of music, photos, large business documents, and even video without ever having to change USB drives or search other portable storage devices containing specific content.”
Mark Akoubian, Flash business manager, Kingston said: “The new DataTraveler 150 has broken through storage barriers by allowing users to store all their digital files ― business or personal ― all under one roof.
“As file sizes increase especially with content such as music and photos, the need for small form factor storage drives with high capacities will continue to go up. The DT150 certainly addresses those needs today.”
Unsurprisingly, the 32GB drive works with Windows Vista/XP/2000, Mac OS X 10.3 and up, as well as Linux 2.6 and up.
You’ll find the drive comes with a five year warranty, and if you need it, 24/7 tech support.
Interestingly, Windows ReadyBoost is NOT supported, but then with a drive this large, you can use one of your old 2GB drives exclusively for ReadyBoost, and keep this 32GB drive for actual storage.
Photos at either link above, although it looks little different to almost any other USB flash drive on planet Earth. Still, nice to see 32GB on the market, 64GB can't be too far away at similarly cheap prices!
