Oooh... if the latest iPod photo leak can be believed, Apple’s bringing
the orange colour back to the iPod range, suggesting other colours
might be on the way, too. What else can we expect from Apple’s upcoming
launch?

forums you’ll find the picture I’ve inserted below, along with much rumination over whether it’s real, or just the latest Photoshop fake.
But whether it’s an iPhake or not, it has, as usual, generated some of that pre-launch buzz that Apple always enjoys before the launch of new products, whether Apple really wants such buzz or not.
Of course, we know that sometimes Apple doesn’t want the buzz, and is happy to sue websites out of existence to show its displeasure, but given that we’re all heading into the all important end of year/Christmas/holiday shopping season, Apple needs to give iPod fans a new reason to upgrade, whether they actually need an upgrade or not.
The alleged new iPod nano looks like it has reverted back to the design of the 1st and 2nd-gen nanos, moving away from the “fatty” image of the 3rd-gen nano that some said resulted in a screen too small to truly enjoy video on.
But if the image is real, it suggests that this iPod can be held horizontally for a widescreen video experience, making us all wonder whether an accelerometer will be built in for seamless, automatic vision switching.
Some have complained that the “curved” screen means a new susceptibility to glare, while others have remarked that the curved edges are reminiscent of the MacBook Air.
Others still are wondering whether any touch screen technology will be included, but given that this looks like a standard, yet upgraded iPod nano, touch screen tech seems highly unlikely for this generation.
