Telstra “Enterprise” & Government Group Managing Director,
Commander Mr David Thodey, said “There has been tremendous interest for the BlackBerry Bold smartphone.
“The great speed of the Next G network and the
capabilities of the technology that stands behind it will deliver
Telstra’s enterprise and government customers a faster BlackBerry
experience and a browsing experience in more places, similar to what
they would achieve at their desktop.”
Commander Thodey continued: “This will mean that the
BlackBerry Bold smartphone will deliver even greater personal and
enterprise productivity improvements than experienced in the past.
“The superiority of the depth of the Telstra Next G network will also
mean that the BlackBerry Bold smartphone will work in more lifts and on
the upper floors of multi-rise buildings, and with global roaming this
makes the BlackBerry Bold the perfect tool for the business executive
‘on the go’,” said
Commander Thodey.
Telstra Business Group Managing Director,
Commander Ms
Deena Shiff, said “The introduction of the BlackBerry Bold will be a
boon for business customers, offering unprecedented functionality and
performance and allowing ‘always on’ wireless connectivity while away
from the desk.
“The BlackBerry Bold combines everything business people love about the
traditional BlackBerry email experience with great graphics, streaming
video, sharp new display, and the ability to download, view and edit
documents in a matter of seconds.
“Customers will be able to enjoy fast access to email and calendar,
fast download of attachments which can be easily read on the high
resolution screen, and fast access to the internet in more places
across Australia on the Next G network.” concluded
Commander Shiff.
Telstra Product Management Executive Director,
Commander
Mr Ross Fielding said, “Customers using the BlackBerry Bold on the Next
G network can make the most of its 3.6 Mbps download capability peak
rating to browse the net, use 3G applications like Whereis Navigator,
and handle large email attachments faster, in more places. This
includes outside Australia where users can take advantage of the
BlackBerry Bold smartphone’s 3GSM Tri Band capability that provides
seamless 3G coverage in many countries.”
So... while Telstra has been most enterprising in getting the Bold into
the country first, it faces the wrath of its competitors no doubt
primed to announce their own launches of the BlackBerry Bold... soon!
