September launch of new iPods and MacBooks?

Opinion and Analysis

More use of multi-touch technology is predicted, although a full touch-screen MacBook isn’t expected for 2 to 3 years, which is a shame for anyone wanting a “tablet” style Mac – preferably one that works with both fingertip and stylus input methods.

Alongside a redesign is a predicted US $999 MacBook.

Munster is quoted as saying to his clients that: “We note that the MacBook has had the same design since its launch over two years ago, and the MacBook Pro has had essentially the same design since its launch over 2.5 years ago, which was very similar in design to the PowerBook G4 released over 5.5 years ago. To compare, the long-running iMac G5 design lasted three years."

The surprise will be in just how different and more advanced they are from current models.

Will they be evolutionary or revolutionary?

In two months, we’ll find out, but it’s easy to expect more of an evolution than revolution at this stage. That said, when it comes to Steve Jobs and Apple, Inc... it pays to expect the unexpected!
